On Saturday May 1, 2010, thousands will take to the streets of Seattle in support of just and humane immigration reform. The 10th Annual May Day March for Workers and Immigrant Rights will urge Congress to enact reform this year. With more than 30 sponsoring organizations, organizers are expecting to draw more than 5,000 people from across the area.
Immigration reform supporters will be joined by elected officials, including Senator Patty Murray via video, Senator Maria Cantwell, Representative Jim McDermott, State Representative Sharon Tomiko-Santos, King County Executive Dow Constantine, King County Councilmember Larry Gossett and Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, and other speakers.
The march will begin at Judkins Park (2150 S Norman St.) and end at Memorial Stadium in the Seattle Center. Rally begins at noon and the march begins at 12:30.
