Oceans produce half of our needed oxygen, while regulating weather, sequestering carbon dioxide, providing healthy foods, employment, recreation and transport of goods. These same bodies of water are also, unfortunately, repositories for waste and byproducts of our industrial age. A new “blue consciousness” is needed about the importance of restoring and protecting aquatic health, sustainability and productivity. Come enjoy the exhibits, music and entertainment, panelists, films, and presentation by eminent speaker and marine biologist Dr. Carl Safina at this public event and find ways to make a difference for present and future generations.
