The mission of the Alliance for Sustainability is to bring about personal, organizational & planetary sustainability through support of projects that are ecologically sound, economically viable, socially just and humane.
In 2010, the Transition Fair's keynote speaker is Richard Heinberg, a journalist, educator, and author of The Party's Over: Oil, War, and the Fate of Industrial Societies and Powerdown: Options and Actions for a Post-Carbon World.
Event co-sponsors include Alliance for Sustainability, Center for Energy and Environment, Gardening Matters, and many more!
Volunteers from the Cocoran, Powderhorn, Phillips, Seward, Longfellow, Standish Ericson and other Twin Cities neighborhoods will meet with volunteers from local congregations, immigrant associations, garden clubs and student volunteers to plan how each neighborhood can build local resilience and find ways to thrive as we adapt to climate change, peak oil and economic disruption.
This event will take place in the South High School Auditorium at 3131 19th Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55407.
