Free Minds, Free People, is a national conference presented by the network in partnership with The Brotherhood/Sister Sol, the Chicago Freedom School and Youth in Action.

Free Minds, Free People brings together teachers, high school and college students, researchers, parents and community-based activists/educators from across the country to build a movement to develop and promote education as a tool for liberation.

The  2009 conference featured more than 60 activities, including workshops, panels, and local community site visits with 40 presenting organizations and 450 attendees.
