Vacations are vanishing. Only 14% of Americans will get a vacation of two weeks or longer this year. A third of women and a quarter of men get no annual leave anymore, and many others are afraid to use their paid leave for fear they could be laid off or demoted if they do. Because the US has no minimum paid-leave law, the average American vacation is now down to a long weekend (compared to Australians who have four weeks, Europeans with four to five weeks, and the Japanese with two). An exciting lineup of speakers and presenters discuss why vacation time matters for America as related to specific topics like health, culture, and families. www.timeday.org
