Free Minds, Free People, is a national
conference presented by the network in partnership with The
Brotherhood/Sister Sol, the Chicago Freedom School and Youth in Action.
Conference proposals are due by January 21, 2010.
Free Minds, Free People brings together teachers, high school
and college students, researchers, parents and community-based
activists/educators from across the country to build a movement to
develop and promote education as a tool for liberation.
The
2009 conference featured more than 60 activities, including workshops,
panels, and local community site visits with 40 presenting organizations
and 450 attendees.
