The government sector promises to be a significant part of the job growth and economic promise of green building.

Much of the $787 billion in federal stimulus money is supporting publicly owned green building and retrofit projects at the local, state and federal levels.

The federal government alone owns and operates some 500,000 buildings.

30 percent of all LEED projects are government-owned.

In January, the Obama administration set a 28 percent greenhouse gas reduction target for public buildings by 2020.

2010, one-and-a-half days of high-quality education, policy-oriented
discussions and presentations, networking with the decision-makers you
need to know to be part of the public sector's green building boom, and
other essential opportunities. And for government employees only, the additional half-day Government Forum will offer government-focused programming.
And Federal Summit 2010 is in the process of applying to qualify for continuing education hours toward satisfying GBCI's LEED Professional Credential maintenance requirements as well as AIA continuing education.
