Community Radio in Rural Paraguay

Amanda and our closest volunteer neighbor, Orlando Velez, work the microphone during our weekly community radio program. We call it “Radio Show’o”—a play on words because in Guarani “radio so’o” (literally: “meat radio”) is a euphemism for gossip. We touch on the full range of Peace Corps topics: sustainable agriculture practices, environmental protection, nutrition, rural health and sanitation, democracy, etc. Good times!
