The sign that welcomes travelers to Black Rock City, and to Burning Man. As cars approach the entrance, the welcoming committee asks if there are any “Virgins” (first-time Burners) in the car. If there are, the committee encourages them to ring a special gong, and roll in the dust of the playa as a rite of passage. Many hugs are distributed.
