Pete Seeger: The Storm King

In this musical, spoken-word biography, Seeger’s inimitable voice is set against a backdrop of world music, offering personal stories and poetry. Over 30 musicians contributed everything  from  African rhythms to classical guitar. At 92, Seeger’s still candid, full of humor, and inspiring us to be better human beings.

The Low Highway

With so much wrong in the world, Steve Earle just can’t stop.  On Low Highway, the guitar and the growl are familiar,  “a call for justice and a cry for peace.”

Fear Them Not

Melodeego is music for the movement.Using their bike-powered sound system, they have performed at Occupy  encampments and climate rallies from Vermont to D.C. This energetic rock/soul trio sings about social and environmental justice in a fresh, funky way, calling us all to take a stand and make a change together.

These reviews originally appeared in Love and the Apocalypse, the Summer 2013 issue of YES! Magazine.
