Across North America and Europe, the Urban Playground movement is bringing do-it-yourself fun to the heart of big cities. Kevin Bracken, who organizes events in Toronto, says the idea is to create spaces for participatory amusement—to encourage active creation of entertainment instead of passive consumption. Beyond being fun, these pillow fights and street games reclaim public spaces and build community. |
