Earlier this summer, protesters set out on a five-day journey in honor of the 1921 Battle of Blair Mountain, when more than 10,000 coal miners battled for union rights and protections. This time, the protesters were fighting not just for the rights of miners, but for the mountain itself (Blair Mountain is slated for a mountaintop removal coalmine).
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. joined the protesters. In this video, he discusses the deep problem to which both marches on Blair Mountain were responding: the growth of unchecked corporate power.
