Karen Armstrong, 2008 TED Prize Winner and creator of the Charter for Compassion, is returning to Seattle to acknowledge our leadership in launching a world-wide movement of “compassionate cities” while challenging us to raise the bar in promoting a just economy and a peaceful world.
Be a part of a community-wide response to this year’s TED Prize competition: City 2.0: “Dream Me. Build Me. Make Me Real.” Your voice matters!
The evening will also inaugurate a new non-profit, Compassionate Seattle, which is honored to give the first annual Compassionate Leadership award to Rick Williams and others for leading the John T Williams Memorial Totem Pole Project.
The Seattle Heart Map, a public information resource published by Compassionate Seattle will also be unveiled. The map visualizes connections between individuals, groups and organizations committed to creating a just and prosperous region; come and add yourself to the map!
