Alissa Quart

is the author of seven books, including Bootstrapped and Squeezed. She’s the executive director of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project and has written for many publications including The Washington Post and Time. Quart has won an Emmy and a Society of Professional Journalists award, among other honors.
