Christopher Columbus first crossed the Atlantic more than 500 years ago. Does how we remember him today really matter?
The United Confederation of Taino People, International Indian Treaty Council, and Rethinking Schools say that it does. They're calling on Americans to take this day to learn the true stories of this continent's first peoples and the legacy of domination that continues from Columbus' time to today.
