Powerful Ideas, Practical Actions
Today’s world is not the one we want—climate change, financial collapse, poverty, and war leave many feeling overwhelmed and hopeless.
YES! Magazine empowers people with the vision and tools to create a healthy planet and vibrant communities. We do this by:
- Reframing issues and outlining a path forward;
- Giving a voice to the people who are making change;
- Offering resources to use and pass along
YES! Magazine is printed on 100% post-consumer waste, chlorine-free paper. We reach more than 150,000 readers quarterly. More than 350,000 people visit our website each month, where we post new stories every day.
We publish all of our stories under the Creative Commons license, and encourage you to make free use of our articles by taking these easy steps.
A Nonprofit, Supported By Our Readers
Most magazines make their money from advertising. But we don’t want advertisers to influence the content of YES! Magazine. That’s why we’re ad-free.
Because money from subscriptions covers just one third of our costs, we rely on tax-deductible donations from our readers and from foundation grants. Donations also fund outreach to teachers, journalists, grassroots organizations, faith groups, and policy-makers. They leverage the ideas in YES! to inspire deep shifts at every level of society.
Who We Are
Our board members span the country and bring diverse backgrounds and much wisdom to their advisory role. The YES! staff work on Bainbridge Island, Washington, with the help of energetic interns and enthusiastic volunteers who work in an office that emphasizes collaboration and creativity. We are also grateful to our contributing editors for their advice and for writing regularly for the magazine.
